2019 Regional Food System Grant Program Workshop

King Conservation District is accepting Pre-Proposals to fund programs that advance our local food economy. Deadline for Pre-Proposals is April 23, 2019.

The purpose of the Regional Food System Grant Program is to bridge the gap between producers and consumers, and to serve as a catalyst in making local food production both environmentally and economically sustainable. Based on goals and strategies of the King County Local Food Initiative, and outreach with food system stakeholders, the program funds food system-related projects which demonstrate public benefit. Those projects also link to improving agricultural working lands in King County. The program is designed to support projects that contribute to the economic viability of local farmers, encourage new farmers, expand acreage in food production, improve food access, and increase demand for and sales of King County farm products. Projects we funded in the paste can be found here.

Want to find out more about the grant program and how to apply? Please join us for an informative workshop to discuss what we learned from our first three years of grant projects, the King County Local Food Initiative, and have the opportunity to talk one-on-one with our local collaborative partners about your grant idea, and how to craft a good pre-proposal.

Don’t forget your business cards and brochures for the networking opportunities throughout the event.
