Thanks to all our wonderful volunteers who spent Saturday morning, September 28, helping to maintain KCD’s NAtive Plant Nursery. We had a high turnout of individuals and groups from Huntington Park and Nature Stewards/Weed Warriors. Sword fern and desert saltgrass were repotted to allow more room for them to grow before being planted in their permanent homes. Volunteers help to ensure our plants grow healthy and strong, so they are ready to be used in restoration projects taking place throughout King County every fall.
Volunteers earn plant credits that can be applied to native plants from KCD’s nursery. The nursery’s maintenance relies heavily on support from the community.
