Wild Ginger (Asarum caudatum)

It will bring broad, heart-shaped leaves with springtime dark purple flowers to your garden. This evergreen perennial prefers moist soils and partial to full shade. Wild ginger spreads through rhizomes, which means it grows through horizontal growing stems. It reaches 6″ tall and spreads to 18″ wide or more, creating a nice green mat of groundcover.
