King County Master Gardeners Growing Groceries Continues Through May

WSU King County Extension Master Gardener Program‘s second season of Growing Groceries classes, all designed for the novice to intermediate vegetable gardener kicked on in October. However, it’s not too late to take advantage of the class offerings. The series (you may enroll for one, any, or all) features Master Gardener faculty who specialize in home vegetable gardening and who will help you learn essential gardening practices to grow your own healthy food using research-based, sustainable gardening practices.

Classes focus on major groups of vegetables and cultural strategies, from the principles of vegetable gardening in our maritime climate to the basics of soil preparation, garden design, variety selection, cultural requirements, major diseases and pests, pest management techniques and harvesting strategies.

This season’s series began in October 2019 at The Grange in Issaquah and El Centro de la Raza on Beacon Hill in Seattle and it continues well into the spring of 2020.

Classes are only $5 per class and registration is required.
