Are you interested in becoming a KCD Board Supervisor? KCD Board Supervisors help steer KCD and the important conservation work we do. It is important to us that our board reflects the diversity of King County and its conservation needs. If you think that your voice can help KCD build clean water, healthy forests, and strong local food systems, consider applying for the 2023 Appointed Board position.

The Washington State Conservation Commission (WSCC), an oversight body for King Conservation District, will appoint a supervisor to serve on King Conservation District’s board seat #5. The window for applications for the appointed seat is January 1, 2023 through March 31, 2023. The appointed position will be seated in June of 2023.

The 2023 KCD Board Election results are in. KCD’

The 2023 KCD Board Election results are in. KCD’s 2023 Board Election wrapped up Tuesday, February 14 at 8:00 pm. Final results have been tallied by King County Elections.

With 13,749 ballots counted, this election is a record turnout for KCD. Csenka Favorini-Csorba won the election with 50.98 % of the vote. Conservation district board elections aren’t official until certified by the Washington State Conservation Commission. The commission will review the election results and certify it at an upcoming meeting. Csenka will take her seat on the board in June of 2023.

King Conservation District is holding an election for Seat #3 on our Board of Supervisors. Voting ends February 14, 2023. This election is separate from your standard February special elections and voting takes place through an online ballot portal.

King Conservation District is a nonregulatory, independent, governmental district, funded by you, with a mission to promote the sustainable use of natural resources through voluntary stewardship in King County. We provide technical assistance to private residents in forest management, farm conservation planning, wildfire preparedness, and streamside and shoreline enhancement. We also work with cities and other organizations to support community gardens, urban forest canopy, and local food systems.

Board positions are unpaid, volunteer positions. Board Supervisors direct our conservation programming.
