KCD’s Advisory Committee extends KCD’s reach into our broad community of stakeholders by bringing diverse and expanded perspectives back to KCD’s Board of Supervisors. The Advisory Committee deliberates on policy issues and forwards recommendations to KCD’s Board of Supervisors. The Committee is made up of delegates from local government, nonprofits, and community members.
KCD is looking to fill open seats that are designated for rural residents and environmental nonprofit leaders. We are looking for diverse voices and experiences to help ensure that we are being guided by a body that represents the communities we serve.
Advisory Committee participants are volunteers and are not compensated. The committee currently meets every other month and will be heavily engaged with KCD on strategic planning.
If you are interested in joining KCD’s Advisory Committee, please contact mark.dostal@kingcd.org with a letter of interest and brief description of your background. The available seats will be filled at the discretion of KCD as candidates are selected.

Mark joined KCD in the spring of 2018 as Outreach Coordinator. A transplant from Montana, Mark brings with him a decade of experience in conservation and land-use issues. After graduating from the University of Montana, Mark spent several years teaching natural history in and around Glacier National Park. He also completed two terms of service as an AmeriCorps Volunteer with the Montana Conservation Corps. Most recently, Mark channeled his passion for the outdoors working to engage communities on wildlife and conservation issues while working for the Montana Wildlife Federation. When not developing KCD’s outreach program, Mark can be found hiking in the mountains with his wife Tia and their dog River.
