Rainier Beach Mobile Food Hub
The Rainier Beach Mobile Food Hub will be a practical solution as we fight for healthy food access in our neighborhood. The Food Innovation Center is a long-term development project to serve as an aggregated place for produce distribution—a space for farmers, patrons, food businesses, and other stakeholders alike—a mobile vehicle will support programming as our building undergoes construction phases. We will serve vulnerable communities that face transportation barriers and cannot come to us. The Rainier Beach Mobile Food Hub will build capacity to:
- Pick up of produce from farmers that due to transportation constraints cannot deliver
- Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) box delivery for patrons unable to travel (seniors, immunocompromised, or disabled folks
- Increased partnerships with local organizations that address food emergency situations
