C: 425-548-7468abby.hill@kingcd.org

After serving with the Washington Conservation Corps on KCD’s Urban Restoration Crew, Abby joined staff in January 2023 as part of the Riparian team. As the Program Assistant she supports the implementation of riparian buffer enhancement projects, collects data on restoration sites, and helps operate the Wetland Plant Cooperative.

Abby graduated Whitman College in 2020 with a degree in Biology and Environmental Studies. While a student, she worked as a research assistant, collecting and analyzing data on grassland ecology. She also spent a semester on an environmental field program catching and releasing migrating raptors, assessing the health of aspen stands after fire, documenting beavers’ effects on water retention, and much more. She is currently getting a professional certificate in Wetland Science and Management at the University of Washington.

Born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, Abby is excited to support salmon recovery efforts and increase the health of King County’s waterways. When not working in the field or at her desk, Abby can be found backpacking, rock climbing, block printing, or sewing herself new clothes!
