Chloe Steffes joined KCD in 2023 as the AmeriCorps Education Individual Placement. Originally from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Chloe fell in love with the outdoors, and moved to Washington to attend the University of Puget Sound, where she received a bachelor’s degree in both Environmental Policy and Sociology/Anthropology.

Passionate about the intersection between human and ecological welfare, Chloe’s career has focused on strengthening communal and personal connections to natural spaces. Previously, Chloe assisted with the administration of the Green Tacoma Partnership, specializing in community engagement and restoration events. Additionally, she has focused on local water quality practices with Pierce Conservation District and environmental education though her employment with the University of Puget Sound’s Environmental Policy department.

Chloe is excited to be a part of KCD’s Education team and is looking forward to further exploring avenues for creating engaging and accessible environmental education opportunities. In her free time Chloe enjoys crafting, hiking, and taking care of her many house plants.
