Save the Date – NW Envirothon High School Competition

Are you a high school student or educator looking for an opportunity to further develop your environmental knowledge, grow your resume, and meet like-minded individuals? If so, then make sure to save the date and spread the word about the 2024 Northwest Regional Envirothon Competition!

Washington State Envirothon is a beloved annual natural resource competition organized by Washington Conservation Districts in which students train to compete on diverse environmental issues in five natural resource areas with the support of environmental professionals. Through participating in Envirothon, students gain valuable skills surrounding teamwork, communication and public speaking while simultaneously gaining knowledge and training in ecology and natural resource management. Envirothon contestants leave the competition feeling excited, motivated, and prepared to pursue careers or education in environmental legislation, natural sciences, conservation, and natural resource management.

The 2024 Northwest regional competition will be held in person on March 19, 2024 at the Brightwater Environmental Education Center in Woodinville. The winning team will move on to compete in the Washington State Envirothon Competition in May. Further details regarding the state competition will be published shortly. The winner of the state competition will represent Washington at the 2024 North American Envirothon Competition held in New York from July 28 to August 3.

As your local Conservation District, King Conservation District (KCD) is recruiting passionate students and educators to participate in this year’s Northwest Regional competition. KCD will be a helpful resource throughout participating teams’ Envirothon journey and is here to help organize presentations, curriculum, and workshops with technical experts to help support teams through the Envirothon journey.
