KCD Seeks Input on Board Election Redistricting Proposals

King Conservation District (KCD) is seeking public input on two proposals put forward by an election redistricting committee. The proposals would divide the district into three voting zones with each elected board member representing a single zone.

Currently, all three elected board supervisor positions are at-large, representing the whole district and requiring KCD to run one district-wide election each year. With the proposed changes, KCD would run an election for one zone each year.

KCD anticipates that this change will reduce annual election costs and increase the geographic diversity of board supervisors.

Residents of the district can share input on the draft maps at a listening session being held online Wednesday, June 25 from noon to 1:00pm or by submitting comments through an online public comment form. For more information and to submit public comment, visit kingcd.org/elections.
