WSU Extension Master Gardeners in King County present a fall Plant Sale and Talks at Bellevue Botanical Garden. This popular plant sale returns in time for gardeners to stock up and learn something new, all while enjoying the beauty of the botanical garden. The theme is “Sustainable Gardening for Life.”
Confirmed plant vendors include Chimacum Woods, Lee Farm and Nursery, Celestial Gardens, and the Eastside Fuchsia Society. The Extension Master Gardeners will staff an Ask-a-Master Gardener plant answer clinic from 10am to 2pm to answer your gardening questions. The fresh flower sale will feature locally-sourced flowers and greenery.
A trio of speakers will present talks on our theme of sustainable gardening for life.
10:00am “Trees and a Warming Climate: Strategies for Management and Adaptation” presented by Allen Taylor. Allen is lead arborist and founder of Conservation Tree Care.
11:30am “Integrated Pest Management for the Home Garden” presented by Adam Romero. Adam is associate professor of Environmental Studies at UW Bothell and an Extension Master Gardener.
1:00pm “Climate Change in Our Gardens,” presented by Jessi Bloom. Jessi is owner of NW Bloom, as well as ecological designer, consultant, author, and speaker.
The plant sale and the Garden are free. Registration is required for the talks and the fee of $37 will allow visitors to hear all three speakers. Onsite registration will be available for $40 the day of the sale, depending on seating availability. Information and registration are available at Cool Plants Hot Topics.
Funds raised by this Master Gardener Plant Sale event support the activities of the Master Gardener Program in King County.
