Growing Groceries is an integrated series of classes, building on knowledge gained. Each class contains the minimum information needed to get started. Join us and learn to grow your own food!

The Growing Groceries Program educational series is ideal for the beginner to intermediate home gardener and is crafted for the general public and Master Gardeners. Classes will include gardening practices based on current science and appropriate for our Pacific Northwest environment. Class content is taught at the appropriate time of year to be immediately applied in the garden. Participants in the program will become more successful in their home gardening efforts and learn about sustainable and environmentally healthy practices.

The 2022 Growing Groceries classes will be recorded and available to registered participants for 2 weeks following the class date.

Class fees help the Master Gardener Foundation support the activities of the Master Gardener Program in King County. Advance registration is required for these classes. Registrations for these classes will posted here the first week of January. The fee for an individual class is $7.50 and the series subscription fee for all 11 Growing Groceries classes is $60 (a 25% discount off the total cost). A limited number of Financial Need Fee Waivers are available to allow access for an individual class at no cost. Complete and submit the Growing Groceries request form prior to registering for waiver consideration.

Nothing tastes better than tomatoes, peas, and beans fresh from your garden. Experiment with unusual vegetables and varieties not available in grocery stores or even at farmers markets. Discover strategies that will make you successful in the maritime climate of Western Washington.
