Are you interested in supporting our local pollinators and other beneficial insects? One of the best things you can do is plant native plants that provide food and shelter for these important little environmental keystones! KCD recently published guides aimed at helping urban residents start planting pollinator-friendly gardens. These guides are designed to help you landscape your space with plants that thrive in the challenging conditions of an urban environment. Our Education Team created these guides for a variety of backyard settings, including Sunny & Dry, Shady & Dry, Neat & Tidy Plants, and Low Maintenance Plants. Each guide contains a list of plants to get you started, along with information on plants’ height, bloom time and color, the pollinators they attract and their benefits. These guides include easy to interpret diagrams to help you arrange plants in a yard or parking strip, as well as information on how to start and maintain your pollinator garden. Check out these exciting new resources and help nature thrive in your city and beyond!
