Sunshine Seed Mix – Native Plant Spotlight

One Seed Mix Packet

Mature Height: 1 to 2 feet

The Sunshine Seed mix includes Globe Gilia (Gilia capitata), Godetia aka Clarkia (Clarkia amoena), and Western Yarrow (Achillea millefolium). These flowers have been selected to provide a vibrant pop of color and high pollinator benefit to your landscape.

While each species has unique preferences, all three species will do well in full sun in drier soil. Globe Gilia and Godetia are annuals while Yarrow is a perennial.

Yarrow is known to be toxic to dogs, cats, and horses if ingested.

Each packet will have enough seeds to cover 250 sq. ft.

Planting Instructions

  1. Plant wildflower seeds after the last frost. Seeds will germinate as soon as your soil temperature has warmed to 55°F or warmer.
  2. Remove existing growth, including grass and weeds that can outcompete your wildflower seeds.
  3. Spread your seed across the planting area.
  4. Next, use your feet to compress the soil. This helps germination.
  5. Use a gentle setting on your hose, or a watering can, to gently soak the seeded area.
  6. Don’t cover the seeds. Direct sunlight will help them grow!
