KCD is suspending the Equipment Share Program due to public safety concerns presented by the COVID-19 virus.

We will reach out to those who have requested to use the equipment about future scheduling once the equipment is available to use again.

Thank you for your patience.

A hay probe is a sharpened metal tube that is used to take a representative sample of the forage in a bale of hay. KCD’s hay probe (also called a core sampler) is available to borrow at no charge. Forage samples are then sent to a laboratory for nutritional analysis. Knowing the nutrient composition of hay can help match a feeding program to animal requirements and also help with marketing hay to potential customers.

For more details about how to use the probe, see the Hay Probe Loan Program Fact Sheet.
